About the IC800VMACONCN2
The IC800VMACONCN2 is an Encoder Connector created by General Electric. This connector may have also been sold by GE FANUC and FANUC depending on the year it was being mass-produced.
The IC800VMACONCN2 is a CN2 Encoder connection used on the VersaMotion series of servo applications. It is used on a variety of encoder cables manufactured by GE. These connectors are rated to be used for 100-750 watts of power. It comes with a housing amp (1-172211-0). This connector is meant to be used with the IC800VMCExxx (xxx representing the length of the cable) series of encoder cables. The encoder connector is typically 32 mm long and the housing amp is 20mm long.
The IC800VMACONCN2 is used to connect the encoder to the servo motor and the drive I/O. It is plugged directly into the CN2 Encoder Interface space on the Servo Drive. The servo motor contains an integrated encoder. Encoder cables should use a twisted-shield signal wire and should have a grounding conductor. By using this type of wire, it helps to prevent voltage coupling and can eliminate electrical noise.
For more information about the VersaMotion series of servo motors, amplifiers, and their encoders please refer to the VersaMotion user’s manual, GFK-2480A. Only trained professionals should install the IC800VMACONCN2 to their corresponding encoder cable and servo drive.
