The GE IC800VMCE030 is an Encoder Cable part of the GE VersaMotion servo motor control system. It provides a feedback connection between the servo motors and the servo drive units. It sends to the servo drive the angular position signal of the motor generated by the encoder.

The cable has secure device connections at both ends. At the motor end the cable comes with a connector AMP 1-172169-9 (Mate and Lock type). At the servo drive end (amplifier connection), it has a twenty (20x) terminal connector with locking screws.

The cable also uses a twisted-shield signal wire with a terminal. This terminal should be connected to the ground terminal (marked) at the front of the servo drive unit. The encoder cable should be placed from the power cables in separated conduits. The separation must be at least 25 cm (12 inches) to avoid signal interference.

Do not touch any terminal or cable connected to the servo drive unit after the unit is powered off. Wait until all the led indicators are off. This is for preventing an electric shock from residual voltage within the system.
