About the IC220DBI001
IC220DBI001 is a Network Interface Module in the VersaPoint series by GE Fanus Automation. This Network Interface Unit uses the DeviceNet Slave protocol and has an active lifecycle status. The data rate is up to 500 kbaud. This module supports serial communications but does not support a firmware upgrade. There is no web support or numeric LCD display. There are also no digital inputs or outputs on the module. An I/O Network Interface Unit connects VersaPoint I/O modules to host PLC or computer via a variety of networks, which makes it easy to include VersaPoint I/O in PROFIBUS-DP, Ethernet or DeviceNet installations.
The NIU is capable of handling up to 63 modules in one node. The power in is 8 amperes maximum. The nominal power input voltage is 24 VDC. The power voltage range is 19.2-30 VDC, the current for Local Bus UL is 2 amps, and the current for Local Bus UA is 500 mA. The dimensions are 1.92 in (w) x (4.72 in (h) x 2.82 in (d). The required terminal strip is IC220TBK201; it contains 10 strips. This module is the link between DeviceNet and the VersaPoint station. The DeviceNet NIU communicates on a DeviceNet network as a Group 2 slave.
Tasks of the NIU include providing diagnostic information from the connected I/O to DeviceNet, electrical isolation of the local I/O, supplying the I/O modules with communications power, and coupling of DeviceNet and the VersaPoint I/O modules. A maximum current of 2A for logic power can be supplied by the NIU. 1000 bytes (inputs and outputs) is a maximum number of data words for the I/O station. The current carrying capacity of the voltage jumpers is limited. DeviceNet supports Faulted Node Recovery, Automatic Station Configuration, Polled I/O Slave Messaging, point data objects for discrete and analog inputs and outputs, Addressable Hardware or Software, and UCMM (peer-to-peer) communications.
