About the VMIVME-2170A
VMIVME-2170A
This unit is a part of the General Electric Fanuc Automation VMIC series of digital converters, input and output units, and other circuit boards. This unit in particular is listed as the VMIVME-2170A, a model of digital output board. This board is fitted with a set of optical couplings. The many features that are included in the frame of this module are components such as the 32 optically isolated outputs, the outputs that range from 2.5 to up to 300 milliamperes, and the field configurable, pull up resistors. The VMIVME-2170A module requires pull up voltage that can be applied externally.
The VMIVME-2170A model comes implemented with a double Eurocard form factor PC board, which is able to provide the necessary address decoding and data transfer control logic, able to accept both 8 bit and 16 bit data transfers. The optical couplings are able to isolate the 32 outputs from one another, as well as the VMEbus module. The VMIVME-2170A is able to support both types of data transfer, supervisory data and nonprivileged data.
The VMIVME-2170A is outfitted with several functional characteristics. In regards to board function, it operates at 32 bits processing capabilities, optically isolated, and specifically designed and optimized for the VMEbus. The VMIVME-2170A features such high rates of isolation, it also provides a flexible, cost effective, 4 byte digital output port with a high noise immunity.
The VMIVME-2170A model is no longer in production, either from its original developers, General Electric, and from its former producers, Abaco Systems. These models are available from AX Control, used, yet completely refurbished and optimized to run within the set of today’s industrial standards.
