About the VMIVME-2528
VMIVME-2528
This unit is a piece of equipment from the VMIC array of devices, designed with several different functions, which range from analog to digital converter boards, central processor unit boards, and a wide array of input and output boards. The VMIC devices are all original products of the industrial automation division of General Electric. However, the units were later pulled from their production line, and then this series was later acquired by Abaco Systems.
The VMIVME-2528 unit is a 128 bit model, TLL Digital Input and Output Board. The VMEbus attachment that the VMIVME-2528 unit is integrated with a set of specifications that are compatible with a double height form factor. The other components that this model is outfitted with include an input and output connection module, with a type 64 pin DIN 41612. Integrated into this unit is a set of 16 input and output ports, which are 8 bits wide. They are addressable to any address that is located within a short supervisory or non-privileged, short input and output map.
The other features of the VMIVME-2528 unit includes a series of individual port direction control jumpers for the 16 individually addressable ports, and up to 24 milliamperes of output current sink capability. The data transfers that this unit can process are grouped between both 8 bit and 16 bit transfers. There is an array of twelve DIP switches that are able to provide unlimited short data Input/Output address map selection.
