About the VMIVME-5521
VMIVME-5521
This unit is a part of the VMIC line of devices, designed and produced initially by the industrial automation division of General Electric. These were produced by GE originally, but then fell out of production. They were then acquired by Abaco Systems. The VMIC series is built as a line of boards that function as a variety of devices, such as CPU modules, Analog to Digital Converter boards, and Input and Output boards. This unit is designated as the VMIVME-5521 model, a micro channel to VMEbus Link module.
The VMIVME-5521 is designed with several of the standard features within the VMIC series, such as the user selectable configuration of the unit. While in use, the VMEbus interrupts and are then translated into ISA interrupts. The 8038SX ISA Bus processor module is integrated into the unit, and fully able to access the VMEbus Resources.
The VMIVME-5521 model is a high performance, easy to use, device, with a simple method of connection between this and the ISA bus together, via the unit’s VMEbus chassis by a cable and a pair of adapter boards. The addressing of the VMIVME-5521 unit is able to provide the A32, a24, and the A16 VMEbus independent windows, appearing within available ISA memory space.
The VMIVME-5521 unit is available from AX Control, used, yet completely refurbished by our team of technicians.
