About the VMIVME-DR11W
VMIVME-DR11W
This module is a part of the VMIC series of devices, originally produced en masse by the industrial automation division of General Electric, and then was acquired by Abaco Systems. This series is designed as a group of digital board converters, input and outputs and CPU interfaces. This model, the VMIVME-DR11W, is designed as a high performance, VMEbus Direct Memory Access (DMA) Interface module.
This unit is capable of handling up to 32 bits of data, and is built to form a 16 bit parallel interface that is between the VMEbus attachment and the Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) type devices, the DR11-W and the DRV11-WA, and able to interface with the DR11 W CPU link modules. The other possible interfaces that the VMIVME-DR11W is able to connect with is a back to back interface of a VMEbus to VMEbus Direct Memory Access Link connection.
The VMIVME-DR11W module is designed to incorporate a SCB68430 DMA controller unit into it’s frame, to perform its DMA transfers, a MC68153 Bus Interrupter Module (BIM) to implement a VMEbus interrupter (for the attention and DMA completion interrupts), and it also contains logic capabilities to allow the VMIVME-DR11W module to generate an attention interrupt to the external device.
AX Control is able to offer the VMIVME-DR11W unit, as well as the rest of the VMIC lineup of devices. These modules have all been entirely refurbished and optimized to operate nominally in an industrial setting of today.
