About the VMIVME-M-485
VMIVME-M-485
This module is a part of the VMIC lineup of devices, initially designed, built and mass produced by the industrial automation production branch of General Electric. Later however, the series was then acquired and produced by Abaco Systems.
This model listed here the VMIVME-M-485, a Repeat L-485, long line Repeater Link Module. This unit comes with a series of unique features such as the single wide VME bus attachment port, a Master Repeater Module for the unit’s long line repeater, as well as a set of DIN type Input and Output connectors.
The VMIVME-M-485 module is designed as one of two units in the VMIC long line repeater link subseries of products. These models are built of a two board set: one of them being the VMIVME-Repeat-S-485 model, and the other, this one. These boards in tandem are them referred to the as such because of the associated with the master and slave VMEbus chassis.
The VMIVME-M-485 unit also is designed to accommodate a double Eurocard form factor module, and is able to support both 16 bit and 24 bit addressing, as well as 8 bit and 16 bit data transfers.
It is fully capable of supporting all seven of the available interrupt levels. There is a propagation delay of approximately 400 nanoseconds, with a 5 foot cable connected. For longer cables connected, there is an extra 4 nanoseconds per foot.)
The environmental temperature range of the unit ranges between 0 and 55 degrees C while operational, and between -20 and 85 degrees C while powered down in storage.
