About the VMIVME-PS250-000
VMIVME-PS250-000
The VMIC line of devices were a series of products originally designed and manufactured by the automated industrial equipment division of General Electric. These units were a series of products which were built for several different functions, such as the analog to digital converter modules, the central processing unit, and the input and output boards. They were each developed by GE for a time, until they were pulled from production, and later acquired and produced by Abaco Systems.
This unit is the VMIVME-PS250-000, a VMIC/GE Fanuc 20 slot mainframe, outfitted with several parts that come together to form one entire unit. The 20 slot VMEbus chassis is designed with an integrated, extruded aluminum frame, that ensures a strong and rigid chassis assembly. There is a series of integral one piece extruded aluminum card guides, designed to eliminate any possibility of the metal flexing and breaking. The punched openings that are placed between the card guides, which allow the VMIVME-PS250-000 model to be able to provide greater cooling efficiency, due to the uninterrupted air flow. There is a durable epoxy powder coating along the unit, providing a safe, non-conducting finish to the model.
The VMIVME-PS250-000 unit is assembled with a set of configurable backplanes, power supplies, fan attachments, and other accessories.
