About the 139-V-TC
Model number 139-V-TC was designed to mount vertically and has a thermal capacity meter output which is noted by the V and TC characters in the part number. The 139 denotes what series this model is part of, the series is the 139 Motor Protection Relays which was produced by GE Multilin. There is a long list of protections that are used with this model, some of this protection are locked rotors, repeated starts, ground faults, undercurrents, and more. The full function and how the protection works can be found in the 139 Series Motor Protection Relay Instruction Guide.
External connections make up the 139-V-TC relay. The complexity of the associated wires varies depending on the number of external connection options chosen. Some of the external output connections for this model are thermal capacity used meters, contactor or breaker trips, alarms with auxiliary relay contacts, 4-20 mA outputs of full load current, and analog temperature outputs. The thermal capacity used meters, 4-20 mA outputs of full load current, and analog temperature output is all optional but standard on the relays meaning that while the outputs are on the relay it is not required for these outputs to be used for the relay to operate correctly.
As mentioned above there are auxiliary relay contacts on the 139-V-TC relay which are extra contact relays that operate independently of the standard relay contacts on this model. There are internal selector switches will be used to program the alarm conditions that will set off the auxiliary relay contacts.
