About the 169PLUS-100P-240
A model of the 169 series with an enhanced power range (240 VAC, range: 180-270 VAC), General Electric Multilin’s 169PLUS-100P-240 Motor Management Relay is an excellent choice for high control power systems. The relay can monitor, protect, and control motor systems in real time, responding to events and recording timestamps as they arise. The faceplate of the 169PLUS-100P-240 has LEDs and an alphanumeric LCD that helps alert users to these protective processes in an active fashion.
The 169PLUS-100P-240 includes a number of protective features that prolong motor life and reduce maintenance time. Overload protection, short circuit protection, phase reversal, motor jam detection, overtemperature protection, and undercurrent protection are all features that shield the motor system from harm and attempt to return conditions to normal operation. The 169PLUS-100P-240 also has a number of programmable alarm functions that can warn users of impending problems before these processes occur.
Multilin’s 169PLUS-100P-240 RS422 communications port allows it to connect to other 169 relays (or other devices by using the Multilin 169 Plus Relay Communication Protocol) for the purpose of monitoring multiple motor systems at one time. The relay creates a “MASTER” and “SLAVE” logic for multiple relay systems with one of the 169s acting as the primary controller of the relay system. It should be noted that the MASTER 169 cannot be used for motor management, instead controlling the network itself. As a result, the MASTER 169 should be placed in a central location so that users can easily reference the actual values being recorded by SLAVE 169s/devices.
