About the 169PLUS-120N-120
Adept at protecting, monitoring, and controlling motor systems, GE Multilin ‘s 169PLUS-120N-120 is equipped with a wide range of metering and safeguarding capabilities that make it an excellent Motor Management Relay. This unit is one of the PLUS models of the 169 series, giving it a number of advantages over the base model, such as advanced metering capabilities and extra connections.
The 169PLUS-120N-120 runs on user-configurable settings called ‘setpoints’ that define when trips occur, which values are displayed on the LCD, and more. The 1601-0003-A4 user manual provides extensive information on the various setpoints and how they impact the system, so users should reference it prior to beginning programming their relay. A few of the system setpoints include TRIP TIME, CUSTOM CURVE, RTD ALARM LEVEL, and G/F CT RATIO.
The faceplate of the 169PLUS-120N-120 includes the 48-character alphanumeric liquid-crystal display, a keypad for navigating the display, and a number of LEDs that indicate system health. The faceplate itself is made of a polycarbonate material and can be cleaned with mild soap, isopropyl alcohol, freon, or naptha. The LCD functions at a temperature range 0°C to +55°C. The LCD’s brightness may need to be adjusted after installing the relay.
The drawout construction chassis protects the relay from dust and damage during routine operation. The chassis can be installed easily by following the instructions contained within the 1601-0003-A4 manual. Users should ensure the door of the chassis has proper space to swing open to enable easy access to the relay’s keypad and LCD.
