About the 269PLUS-W-10C-HI

Equipped with an RS485 port for connecting to computers running the EnerVista software program, General Electric Multilin’s 269PLUS-W-10C-HI is a Motor Management Relay adept at protecting and controlling medium sized motor systems. This particular model is a high control power unit of the 269 PLUS series, functioning at a control power of 80 to 300 VDC and 65 to 265 VAC. This contrasts with the low power models of the series, which function at a control range of 20 to 60 VDC and 20 to 48 VAC; users should choose a model appropriate to their power system’s needs, as undershooting or overshooting the control power range can cause issues for the system.

The relay offers a number of elements designed to offer protection and control for the motor system. Capabilities such as ground fault protection, stator overtemperature correction, thermal modeling, and rapid trip extend system life and reduce system downtime by shielding the system from hazardous conditions. The relay is also able to actively display system parameters such as frequency, wattage, total operation hours, and much more.

As mentioned earlier, the EnerVista software works in tandem with the relay to provide advanced capabilities to the system. While the 269 PLUS relay offers the keypad and LCD for viewing system parameters and editing settings, EnerVista’s interface is considerably more efficient and provides a suite of tools that offer increased capabilities to the unit. For example, the EnerVista Integrator enables a seamless, low-effort integration of the relay into existing or new motor systems.

Frequently Asked Questions about 269PLUS-W-10C-HI

What does the 10C in the model number refer to?

For the 269PLUS series, the 10C designation indicates that this version of the relay comes with 10 Ohm copper RTDs. This contrasts with other models in the series, which can come with 100 Ohm platinum RTDs ("100P"), 100 Ohm nickel RTDs ("100N"), and 120 Ohm nickel RTDs ("120N"). RTD stands for resistance temperature detector, and they can be used to monitor temperatures within the system, such as hottest point and ambient air temperature. Standard curves (or Multilin's custom FlexCurve technology) are used in tandem with RTDs to determine these temperatures successfully.

How is the faceplate of the 269PLUS-W-10C-HI designed? Does it have a screen?

The faceplate of the 269PLUS-W-10C-HI does offer a display, in addition to a keypad and an array of LED indicators. The display is a backlit 48-character liquid-crystal display that allows the user to view system parameters,  program setpoints, and review the causes of trips and alarms. The keypad can be used alongside the LCD for setpoint modification, allowing extreme customization of the relay. The LED indicators reflect system processes and include the labels "TRIP", "ALARM", "AUX 1",  "AUX 2", and "SERVICE".
