About the 369-HI-R-0-0-0-0
Managing and protecting three phase motors, GE Multilin’s 369-HI-R-0-0-0-0 is able to learn a motor system’s unique parameters and adapt accordingly. Part of Multilin’s 369 series, this version of the relay includes the optional twelve built-in RTD ports, which are 3 wire and composed of 100 Ω platinum, 100 Ω nickel, 120 Ω nickel,10 Ω copper. The Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs) should be used in conjunction with shielded cable to prevent noise pickup in the industrial environment. The RTDs provide bearing, stator, and ambient temperature protection and can determine Thermal Capacity Used (TCU) through calculations based on the RTD bias curve.
369-HI-R-0-0-0-0 extends motor life by providing early warnings for issues arising within the system. For example, decreases in motor current load detected by the relay’s system monitoring capabilities can point to broken belts for conveyors, loss of airflow from cooling devices, or loss of pump suction; users can then address these problems before they become more serious. Additionally, quick motor shutdown activated during Overload conditions reduces damage to bearings, gears, and various other mechanical parts.
Motor information collected by the 369-HI-R-0-0-0-0 can be viewed on the relay’s 40 character liquid crystal display, or more conveniently viewed through a computer running Multilin’s EnerVista 369 software. After connecting a computer to the RS232 port located at the front of the relay or to one of the RS485 ports at the back of the relay, users can easily monitor motor status, maintain relay functions, or trend and integrate data into system programming. Basic troubleshooting tools also enable users to address issues in the system and adjust parameters if needbe.
