About the 469-P1-HI-A20-E-H
This enhanced model of GE Multilin’s 469 series is able to protect and control motor systems of medium to large size. The 469-P1-HI-A20-E-H is also unique from most models in that it comes with the optional conformal coating; this thin, polymeric layer helps protect the unit from dust, high temperatures, and more. The conformal coating therefore extends motor life, especially in hazardous operating environments.
The 469-P1-HI-A20-E-H’s enhanced faceplate can be divided into approximately four sections: this includes the RS232 port for direct connection to a laptop running EnerVista 469, the redesigned keypad for setpoint entry and editing, an expand 40-character liquid-crystal display, and the LEDs which signify various statuses within the system.
The “P1” in the model number of the 469-P1-HI-A20-E-H indicates that the relay is compatible with 1 A phase CT secondaries. Contrasting with the 5 A phase CT secondaries denoted by “P5” model numbers, users should ensure that the nominal phase current rating corresponds with the connections and secondary ratings of all connected CTs. Mismatched CTs can cause damage to the system over time, and will indubitably result in weakened protection even if this damage does not immediately become evident.
This relay is also capable of self-assessment, evaluating motor health, and offering configurable alarms to alert users when rotor problems arise. This early detection system results in reduced troubleshooting times in addition to reduced downtime. Metrics related to motor health can also be reviewed in General Electric Multilin’s EnerVista 469 program, which is more efficient than manually navigating through the relay’s menus using the keypad.
