About the 489-P5-LO-A20-T
Relay 489-P5-LO-A20-T is one of the few models in the 489 Generator Management Relay Series that is equipped with an enhanced display with a 10Base-T Ethernet connection. As it is one of the few with this connection type there are special wiring specifications. Please note that when this relay is mounted in the case and must be removed that the RJ45 connector on the device must be disconnected to prevent any damage from occurring. When you are inserting the relay into the case, please be careful and make sure that the ethernet cable has enough room that it will not get caught while sliding the relay back into the case. If the cable gets caught it could not only damage the cable but interfere with the proper insertion of the cases terminal blocks.
There is a wide variety of terminal types on the 489-P5-LO-A20-T relay. Some of the terminals and their descriptions are as follows, G10 HGF Ground CT, D02 RTD #7 Compensation, E01 1 Trip NC, F12 IRIG-B -, and many more. A full comprehensive list of all of the terminals associated with this relay can be found on page eight of chapter three in the GEH-10649N 489 Generator Instruction Manual. All of the general wiring considerations, control power specifications, current inputs, and their uses can be found in chapter three of this manual as well.
When looking at the faceplate of this relay please note that there are three different groups of LED indicators. The three groups on the 489-P5-LO-A20-T relay are the status of the 489 model, the output status, and the status of the connected generator. A comprehensive list of all of the LEDs and their functions will be found in chapter four of the aforementioned manual under the heading 4.1.2.
