About the 745-W2-P5-G5-HI-A-E-H
This enhanced model of General Electric Multilin’s 745 series is intended to manage and safeguard transformers, autotransformers, and reactors. The 745-W2-P5-G5-HI-A-E-H employs adaptive features to respond to system events in real time. Some of these features include:
-
Dynamic CT Ratio Mismatch Correction
-
Overexcitation Protection
-
Transformer Overload Protection
-
Frequency Rate-of-Change Detection
These features help to extend system life by minimizing strain on transformer elements. Other features such as Hottest Spot Monitoring can give users insight into potential issues before they worsen.
The relay’s Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) feature is able to calculate the amount of distortion present in system signals and reduce unnecessary interference. Total Harmonic Distortion is calculated for each winding and then evaluated according to user settings (setpoints). These calculations adhere to IEEE standards. The range of THD for this part is 0.00 to 99.9% and the accuracy is ±1% of full-scale at 0.5 × CT.
Equipped with a protective conformal coating, this model is well-suited for harsh operation environments. Conformal coating is a thin, polymeric layer that guards the relay against environmental threats such as dust, temperature, humidity, abrasion, and chemicals. This conformal coating is not a sealant, and will therefore allow moisture to dissipate and prevent it from remaining in the board.
This model of the 745 series comes with an enhanced LCD, which is noticeably wider than the base model. The enhanced version of the unit also sees an expansion to the keypad, considerably increasing the functionality of the relay when manually entering setpoints on the device and for purposes of reviewing system values.
