About the 745-W3-P5-G5-HI-A-E
The 745-W3-P5-G5-HI-A-E is a high-speed, draw-out transformer protection and management system manufactured by General Electric Multilin. Part of the 745 series, this particular model is three winding and includes analog inputs/outputs and an enhanced LCD. Additionally, this model is the high control power version of the series. Its windings each function on a phase current input rating and ground current input of 5A.
The 745 employs metering technology, eliminating the need for extraneous equipment and connections to the transformer system. It is capable of monitoring and recording voltage, current, power, energy, temperature, and more. These values can be displayed on the enhanced LCD when not in direct use, or alternatively examined through GE’s industry standard EnerVista 745 program. The RS232 or RS422/RS485 ports can both be used to connect computers to the system, or users can purchase a different model that allows Ethernet setup and connection. These parts are demarcated by a “T” in the model number, and they can be found by searching our website or scanning through AX Control’s 745 series page.
GE Multilin’s 745-W3-P5-G5-HI-A-E reduces costs through its asset monitoring, determining hottest-spot temperature and aging factors to calculate when it is best to replace or perform maintenance on power transformers. Its adaptive capabilities also lower costs by reducing overall strain on the system and alerting users when problems occur within the transformer system.
This relay features neither the loss of life feature or the restricted ground fault feature, though both can be added while in the field according to GE Multilin.
