About the 745-W3-P5-G5-HI-ALR
The 745-W3-P5-G5-HI-ALR is a transformer management relay and part of GE Multilin’s 745 series, protecting and managing power transformers ranging from small to large. The relay offers an array of features in a single device, including frequency, percent differential, overcurrent, and overexcitation protection elements. It is also capable of monitoring individual harmonics and total harmonic distortion. The 745 boasts a number of adaptive relaying capabilities, such as dynamic CT ratio mismatch correction, adaptive time overcurrent elements, and adaptive harmonic restraint. The 745-W3-P5-G5-HI-ALR is also capable of conducting simulations intended to test relay operations extrapolated from computer-generated waveform data. This data can then be digitized and downloaded for further use.
The 745-W3-P5-G5-HI-ALR’s 40 character backlit liquid crystal display and input keypad allow users to manually adjust setpoints; the device also features an RS232 program port to easily connect computers running the EnerVista 745 Setup Software for more convenient setpoint management. The Enervista 745 software acts as a single program from which to configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor the operation of relay functions. The front panel contains a number of LEDs that indicate various statuses of the system during routine function. The 745-W3-P5-G5-HI-ALR is encased in a 745 SR-series arrangement, which provides mechanical protection during operations and also features a dust-tight door. The relay provides sixteen logic inputs and eight output relays. This particular transformer management relay in the 745 series offers three windings per phase and functions on a higher control power, 90 to 300 VDC; 70 to 265 VAC at 48 to 62 Hz. Additionally, the 745-W3-P5-G5-HI-ALR includes analog input/output, loss of life, and restricted ground fault options.
