About the 750-P5-G5-D5-HI-A20-G
The 750-P5-G5-D5-HI-A20-G is produced by General Electronic Multilin and is intended for the protection and management of distribution feeder systems. The relay is housed in a standard SR series chassis which can be mounted on a 19-inch panel. The 750 can be mounted alongside other units in the SR-series as well, and the RS422/RS285 ports located at the back of the relay can enable monitoring of multiple units.
The 750-P5-G5-D5-HI-A20-G employs a variety of protective mechanisms while safeguarding distribution feeder systems, such as the following:
-
Ground Overcurrent Protection: In the event that ground currents exceed the intended rating for a user-configured amount of time, the 750 can quickly clear the issue to limit damage to equipment.
-
Voltage Protection: The 750-P5-G5-D5-HI-A20-G’s negative sequence voltage element can identify irregular system imbalances and can generate a trip or initiate an alarm when voltage exceeds specified voltage settings.
-
Frequency Protection: The 750 protects frequency sensitive equpiment using its two over-frequency elements and two under-frequency elements.
-
Time & Instantaneous Overcurrent: This unit has two phase TOC elements with accompanying level detectors for each phase, and can work with 15 curve shapes (include GE Multilin’s FlexCurve).
These features help to extend system life and reduce maintenance cost by shielding system components from harm in the event that problems arise.
By including so many features in one relay, the 750-P5-G5-D5-HI-A20-G reduces and even eliminates the need for auxiliary protection and metering equipment. This both simplifies the connections of the feeder distribution system and reduces costs associated with purchasing and maintaining the extraneous components.
