About the 760-P5-G5-S5-HI-A10-R
Housed in the protective SR 760 series chassis, General Electric Multilin’s 760-P5-G5-S5-HI-A10-R is a resilient unit that can protect and control feeder distribution systems, in addition to providing backup control and management for buses, transformers, and power lines. It features a wide range of ports at the back of the relay which offer many versatile potential connection configurations.
The 760-P5-G5-S5-HI-A10-R features a simulation feature, which allows the relay to test setpoint configurations without activating current inputs and external AC voltage. Voltages, phase angles, system frequency, and currents can all be entered as setpoints. This feature can simulate normal or fault conditions and generates samples for further analysis.
This unit works in tandem with the EnerVista 760 software program to effectively monitor the system, configure setpoints, run simulations, and trend and export data. The user interface of EnerVista 760 is considerably more efficient than using the liquid-crystal display and keypad, though manual entry works in a pinch.
GE Multilin’s 760-P5-G5-S5-HI-A10-R has two different potential methods of communicating with other systems, namely the RS232 located at the front of the relay and the RS422/RS485 ports at the back of the relay. The series also includes an optional ethernet option, though it is not included on the model. The RS232 port is excellent for monitoring a single relay through a computer running the EnerVista 760 program while the RS422/RS485 ports are especially useful in monitoring multiple relays.
