About the 12M9-008-B2
Produced by General Electric Multilin, the 12M9-008-B2 is a revision of the IO_C module designed for the MM300 Motor Manager system. The IO_C module offers two form-A contact output relays, six digital inputs, and control voltage input. The contact inputs are programmable for any of the input functions, i.e. process interlock or field stop functions. This is true except for contactor A and contactor B, which are fixed as the first and second contact inputs respectively. The user is able to program the two contact inputs to follow any of the digital signals developed by the MM300, such as status signals and alarms.
Terminals 12 and 13 are built to connect to an AC auxiliary supply. The auxiliary voltage can be used for actual value indication, for undervoltage restart, and auxiliary undervoltage. In the event that three-phase voltages are not available, the AC auxiliary supply is also used to calculate power quantities and is used as a phase angle reference. In the event that the IO_C module detects an interruption to the auxiliary supply (while located in slot C), it is capable of raising an AC Low Aux Voltage Inhibit. It then forces the input state of contact inputs to the OFF setting, since the interruption prevents sensing actual states.
Installation of the IO_C module is simple when following the guide located in any of the user manuals. Users should try to reference the most recent revision of the manual available; fortunately, Multilin’s EnerVista MM300 software program is capable of automatically updating system documents and can provide it readily to the buyer.
