About the B30-G00-HCH-F8F-H6P-LXX-N6P-SXX-U5F-WXX
Part of the GE’s Universal Relay series, General Electric Multilin’s microprocessor-based B30-G00-HCH-F8F-H6P-LXX-N6P-SXX-U5F-WXX is a Bus Differential System. The relay uses a low impedance percent differential element to immunize the system to CT saturation amongst other protective features. The relay can also activate alarms and trips when system conditions become hazardous, shielding the components from harm.
The B30-G00-HCH-F8F-H6P-LXX-N6P-SXX-U5F-WXX boasts a variety of communications options, including the RS232 port on the faceplate, the RS485 at the back of the relay, and an optional Ethernet feature. These communications options can link the relay to other relays or GE Multilin’s EnerVista UR software program, which provides an enhanced user interface compared to the manual entry of the liquid-crystal display and keypad.
EnerVista UR offers more convenient setpoint modification, event viewing, data trending, and system monitoring. EnerVista’s Protection Summary Window enables users to disable or enable safety mechanisms in a convenient fashion. In addition to trending data, users can export data recorded by the relay for analysis. EnerVista can be setup with a passcode, increasing security and minimizing unauthorized access.
The B30-G00-HCH-F8F-H6P-LXX-N6P-SXX-U5F-WXX’s faceplate features a liquid-crystal display, keypad, LEDs, and the RS232 port. The display can list various real-time system parameters when not in active use, and is otherwise used in conjunction with the keypad to manually edit relay setpoints. The LCD is effective in a variety of lighting conditions. The keypad offers numerical keys 0-9 in addition to keys such as MENU, HELP, ENTER, and ESCAPE. It also includes arrow keys for navigating the system directionally.
