About the F35-N00-HLH-F8F-H4A-M4A-PXX-UXX-WXX
GE Multilin’s F35-N00-HLH-F8F-H4A-M4A-PXX-UXX-WXX is part of the Universal Relays series and protects up to six feeder distribution systems. It is capable of operating from a temperature of negative forty degrees Fahrenheit to positive one hundred forty degrees, though the vacuum fluorescent display may suffer from minor visual issues at any temperatures colder than negative four degrees Fahrenheit. The unit can be stored from negative forty degrees Fahrenheit to positive one hundred eighty-five degrees.
The F35-N00-HLH-F8F-H4A-M4A-PXX-UXX-WXX offers a number of communications options for tasks such as connecting to EnerVista UR or communicating with other relays in the multiple feeder system. Some of the ports enabling these communications include:
-
RS232 Port: This port can connect the relay to a computer running Multilin’s EnerVista UR software program, which allows for monitoring of actual system values and streamlined settings modification. The port is located on the faceplate of the device
-
RS422 Port: The RS422 is an inter-relay communications port available in a single-channel (module 7T) or dual-channel form (module 7W). This port can run on a communications rate of 128 kpbs or 64 kpbs. While the single-channel works in a very typical way, the two-channel requires precise wiring that should be referenced in Multilin’s 1601-0106-AE1 user manual.
-
RS485 Port: The RS485 port is located on the back of the relay and allows operating and engineering staff to independently access the relay. The port runs on Modbus RTU protocol, though IEC 60870-5-103 is also supported; only one of these protocols may be employed at a given time.
The relay is also capable of peer-to-peer communications using GOOSE messages; all of these communications together reduce traditionally necessary hardwiring and lower costs to the user.
