About the UR-3CH

The UR-3CH functions as the user interface or front panel for a C60 Breaker Management System. The “C” in the part number indicates a Basic Front Panel which has an operating language default of English. The front panel display is comprised of a backlit LCD that is properly illuminated to allow the user to access various messages, faults, and settings even in less than ideal lighting.

The UR-3CH can display 12 characters on the front panel and a variety of application necessary symbols. Additionally, with the use of Enervista software, the user can actually see what is displayed on the front panel on a PC and read actual values.

The keypad on the UR-3CH allows the user to navigate the C60 Management System locally and buttons such as the help key can be pressed to instantly render context sensitive information. The C60 instruction manual GE Publication GEK-130975 (page 124) provides direction on menu navigation, menu hierarchy, and how to enter values. The Main Menu headings are as follow:

What type of universal relay does the UR-3CH replace?

The UR-3CH model number is simply a replacement front panel for a C60 breaker management UR series universal relay. On the lower left corner of the UR-3CH shows the designation ‘C60 Breaker Management Relay’. Please note that the UR-3CH is simply the front panel, and does not include the other components of the C60 breaker management relay. The front panel includes six status LED indicators for the conditions of trip, test mode, trouble, in service, alarm, and pickup conditions in the first column. In the middle of the front panel are event cause LED indicators. These LED categories include voltage, current, frequency, other indicators. In addition there are indicators for phase A, phase B, phase C, and neutral/ground. On the left side of the section are four buttons “preset”, “user 1”, “user 2”, and “user3.” In the second window of the UR-3CH front panel are indicators for when up to eight groups of settings are in use. The status of each breaker can be visually conveyed to the end user with the indicators for either ‘open’, ‘closed’, or ‘trouble’ conditions. Reclose can be enabled, disabled, in progress, or locked out as well. The front UR-3CH provides the operator with feedback for the current status of the C60 through these visual alerts.
