About the UR-6HH

The UR-6HH is a Direct I/O Module in General Electric Multilin’s Universal Relays series, providing digital inputs and outputs to the relay it is installed in. These inputs and outputs allow the relay to interface with different devices in the operating system. In general, the Digital I/O module series can offer up to 96 contact inputs and up to 64 contact outputs. Types of digital I/O connections include Form-A, Fast Form-C, and Form-C.

Digital inputs can allow for connections with system equipment such as selector switches, pushbuttons, limit switches, fans, lights, and valves. Contact types can be wet or dry. Dry contacts are referred to as Passive Contacts while wet contacts are thought of as Active Contacts. Dry contacts provide isolation between the devices while wet contacts do not provide that same isolation.

Frequently Asked Questions about UR-6HH

What location within a universal relay is the digital I/O found, such as a Multilin digital I/O UR-6HH of the UR Series universal relay system?
The digital I/O module may be in different locations depending on the universal relay type (B30, C30, T60, etc.) and depending on how many digital I/O modules are incorporated within the specific relay. The B30 bus differential system universal relay provides a good example in the B30 Multilin catalogue. This manual uses the following part number as an example on page 275: B30-H00-HCL-F8H-H6H-L8H-N6A-S8H-U6H. Within this part number, one can notice three different digital I/O modules, which can be recognized by a two digit code such as the 6A, 6H, or 6H digital I/O module codes within this part number. The location of these digital I/O modules within the universal relay as a whole will depend on the specific universal relay (B30 in this case) and will depend on which location in the model number that each digital I/O order option falls (ex. a 6H digital I/O module is found in the –H** location and in the –U** location. The corresponding diagram shows that the order for this specific B30 relay is a power supply followed by a CPU, CT module, I/O module, etc.
