About the UR-6LH
General Electric Multilin’s UR-6LH is a Digital I/O Module and part of Multilin’s Universal Relays series. The module provides the relay with two Form-A (current with optional voltage), two Form-C outputs, and eight contact inputs. This diverse array of connections increases the overall versatility of the UR system while also adding vital communication functions to the device. Module contacts can be wet or dry, and the module works with overall relay functions to provide accurate information that the relay can later use to display parameters and initiate protective sequences.
The Universal Relay series is modular and scalable in design, allowing modules such as the UR-6LH to be easily installed by accessing the module bay behind the relay faceplate. Whether working with an enhanced or basic UR model, both have detailed instructions on how to open the faceplate and install/reinstall a module, all located in their respective user manuals (which can be found easily and for free on AX Control’s website).
Users should employ proper electrostatic shielding equipment (such as a static strap) when coming into contact with the relay. Protective user equipment is necessary to avoid electrostatic discharge and potential injury, particularly while the relay is energized and active.
