About the UR-8JH
Part of the Universal Relays line of products, General Electric Multilin’s UR-8JH is a CT/VT module that furnishes the relay with sensitive ground 8CT functions. “CT” and “VT” respectively stand for current transformer and voltage transformer, referring to the module’s ability to lower unmanageable voltage and current ratings into values that can be monitored and reactively responded to by the Universal Relay.
The CT/VT module’s voltage inputs should be connected to particular channels for successful function. Channels 1 and 5 should connect to phase A, channels 2 and 6 should connect to phase B, and channels 3 and 7 should be connected to phase C. Channels 4 and 8, on the other hand, connect to a single-phase source. More information on proper connection can be located in the Universal Relay manuals.
There is a vast amount of CT/VT modules available for installation in the Universal Relays series, so prospective buyers should do thorough research before making their purchase. Other modules include functions such as enhanced diagnostics, which is able to assess analog signal integrity by employing an advanced algorithm. This feature ensures reliability and is not included on this version of the part.
