About the UR-8NH
Equipped with advanced diagnostic capabilities, GE Multilin’s UR-8NH CT/VT Module furnishes the relay with standard 8CT. This module can replace broken modules, upgrade older modules, or provide the relay with new capabilities if it did not originally come with a CT/VT module. Because the Universal Relays series was built with scalability in mind, installing modules is a streamlined process with a bevy of information that supports the user during the task.
Up to twenty-four analog current transformer and voltage transformer signals can be established to monitor the power system, with both 1 A and 5 A ratings being supported by the module. While this unit only offers standard current transforming capabilities, other CT/VT modules have features such as high-impedance fault detection and ground fault protection.
The module works efficiently in tandem with the Universal Relay series’ standardized health diagnostics, which is able to run diagnostic assessments on hardware health at startup and continuously during routine function. The Advanced Health Diagnostics feature can monitor for potentially harmful system conditions and present this information through the LCD or EnerVista UR so that users can respond appropriately. Detecting issues at the earliest possible moment is critical for preserving system health, so the relay’s monitoring of CT/VT input circuitry and components is a major boon for the user.
