The HE 500 lineup of products is a series that was designed and developed by Horner Electric (now Horner APG) in the early 2000s. These pieces of hardware are regarded as “all-in-one” units, Operator Control Stations, that achieve the work of three separate devices.
These units share a number of features, with only the input and output modules or possible add-ons differentiating them. First, there is the graphic display and operator interface. The graphics are provided via a thin film transistor, which allows for operators to still view the screen, regardless of how brightly lit their workplace may be. The keypad is physically integrated beneath the graphic display, as are the indicator LED lights, which display the connectivity status and what actions the Operator Control Station is doing.
The HE 500 series is also designed for a specific application memory unit, the MicroSD memory card. This card allows for the capabilities of data being stored locally, and is also able to fully support program updates to the unit. The other software/wireless capabilities that these units can do is an Ethernet connection. But, there is also the option for a wireless telephone modem connection. These two methods ensure that these Operator Control Stations are successfully able to connect remotely and on-site.
The HE500OCS062 is outfitted with a specific set of input and output ports: 8 direct current input modules, and 8 negative logic direct current output modules.
