About the HE500OCS082
HE500OCS082
The HE 500 lineup was developed and produced by the automation industrial manufacturer, Horner Electric. However, the entire series is out of production, and the company has even changed its name since then. Horner Electric (or rather, Horner APG) designed the HE 500 Operator Control Station model as an all in one product, which includes a built in operator interface. When compared to buying an operator interface and programmable logic controller (PLC) individually, purchasing a Horner Electric Operator Control Station is the much cheaper, and more efficient hardware option.
The HE500OCS082 model in particular, stands out from the standard HE 500 setup because of the input and output modules that are outfitted onto the unit. There are 8 DC inputs (at 12 to 24 V/DC), and then there are 8 positive logic DC outputs (at 5 to 24 V/DC, or 0.5 amperes). This totals up to 16 I/O modules.
The HE 500 series has a standard graphical information display. The information is rendered by a thin film transistor module, which allows users to see it in a crisp and readable resolution, no matter how brightly lit of an area they may be working in. The application memory is set up with a removable MicroSD memory card, able to store local data and support program updates. There is also a set of options for network communication and connection. There is an option for Ethernet, and wireless and phone modem, which allows for remote and on-site communication.
