The HE 500 series of Operator Control Station is a product of Horner Electric, though the company is now labeled as Horner APG. The Operator Control Station is an all in one product, built with a logic controller module, an operator interface, and a includes a set of Input and Output modules.

The OSC300 designated models of these products add the capabilities of a full color touch screen to this product line. There is also a new Input and Output system that is designed to expand the number of modules by allowing the Input and Output SmartStack Expansion Module to be remotely mounted from the display. This OSC unit is intended to reduce the installation cost, as well as the development time and amount of required hardware with the compact, simplistic design.

For processing, the HE500OCS300 model is equipped with a dual processor combination, which offers a high speed, high quality, intense performance for both the controller and operator interface functionality.

The operator interface of this model features a full color setup of the graphical display. The unit equipped to process and render the image is a video graphic array, in an image resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. There is a 5.7 inch, resistive touch screen, with a series of integrated keys. There are a total of 6 keys, with one of them as programmable, while the five others are configurable.

The upgraded Input and Output system in the HE500OCS300 model are able to remotely accomodate 20 of the SmartStack Expansion modules.
