This unit is the HE500OCS45EB, a model of Horner Electric’s HE 500 line of Operator Control Station (OCS) modules. These OCS modules are designed to be all in one devices, comprised of components from individual pieces of equipment.
The HE 500 units are designed with an integrated operator interface module, and built to achieve the same work as a controller unit, and includes an integrated Input and Output series of modules. These units are not only designed to be efficient and cost effective, but also as compact, yet durable, devices for any automated industrial setting.
The HE500OCS451EB and other similarly designated models come built with a set in, resistive touch screen. At 8.4 inches (213.36 millimeters) in average size, the touch screen operates using a thin film transistor (TFT) module.
The I/O system of this unit is far more advanced that of other models in the HE 500 line, which are only able to directly interface with network systems. This unit’s I/O modules are capable of interfacing with up to 20 models of the SmartStack Expansion unit. There are 4 connection ports for these models on the HE500OCS451EB, and can be integrated into the unit via a physical connection (a fiber optic cable) or by a remote connection. The operating range for the remote hookup is up to 10 meters, or 32.8 feet.
