About the HE800ASC100
The HE800ASC100 module is an ASCII BASIC module made by Horner APG and as part of the SmartStack series.
The HE800ASC100 module has the ability to perform powerful functions that are typically relegated to more expensive, medium-sized Programmable Logic Controllers. The HE800ASC100 is a more cost effective solution. Unlike these PLCs, the HE800ASC100 module is more flexible from the eyes of a system designer. The HE800ASC100 module is flexible specifically in applications where the HE800ASC100 module is used as a standalone microcomputer or whenever any information is passed between the module and the Operator Control Station/Remote Control Station.
The HE800ASC100 module has a Dallas 80C320 microprocessor that runs at 22.1184 Megahertz. At the assembly level, this microprocessor configuration has an instruction execution time of just barely more than six million instructions per second. The microprocessor has user memory that is rated at 256 bytes and can address a maximum of 64 kilobytes of external CODE memory. In addition, the microprocessor can handle up to 64 kilobytes of external DATA memory, which is divided between PROGRAM space and DATA space for the HE800ASC100 module. The HE800ASC100 module’s microprocessor is also equipped with a signal that is deemed “RESET.” When the RESET signal is active, it begins to inhibit all processing activity.
Installation of the HE800ASC100 module is easily done. To install the HE800ASC100 module, hook the two tabs into the slots that are located on the back cover of the OCS. The, press down onto the HE800ASC100 module so that it is in the “locked” position. Be sure to align the HE800ASC100 module’s fastening devices with the receptacles that are on the OCS.
