About the HE800ETN250
The HE800ETN250 module is an Ethernet Communications Module that was created and manufactured by the company Horner APG as part of their family of controllers that is known as the Horner OCS series. The HE800ETN250 module gives the Horner OCS controllers the ability to communicate over the ethernet. Some of the Horner OCS controllers have these built-in ethernet capabilities, such as the HE800OCS100 Operator Control Station, while others require the user to install the ethernet capabilities using the HE800ETN250 module.
The HE800ETN250 module has many different protocols at the user’s disposal. There is the Internet Control Message protocol, the GE Fanuc Ethernet Global Data protocol, the GE Fanuc Service Request Transfer protocol, Modbus over Ethernet protocol, the Horner APG CsCAN over Ethernet protocol, the ODVA CIP over Ethernet protocol, the File Transfer protocol, the HyperText Transfer protocol, the Simple Mail Transfer protocol, the Auto-Negotiated Ethernet Mode protocol, and the Auto-Negotiated Ethernet Speed protocol. Keep in mind that the File Transfer protocol and the HyperText Transfer protocol are only available in OCS models with built-in Ethernet and compact Flash/MicroSD.
The HE800ETN250 module has is outfitted with either Half or Full Duplex ethernet modes and a shielded RJ-45 ethernet connector type. A CAT5 or better UTP ethernet cable is recommended for use with the HE800ETN250 module.
When installing the HE800ETN250 module, be sure to follow proper safety precautions whenever making any sort of connection. Connecting the safety ground on the power connector before making any other connections is critical for safe installation. Be sure to open the related breakers when connecting to pulse-initiating equipment or electric circuits and never make connections to any live power lines. Before using the module, be sure to inspect the cables for any sort of damage to the insulation and replace immediately if any imperfections are detected.
