About the HE800FOX404
HE800FOX404 is a base/hub I/O system that is manufactured by Horner APG as part of the HE800 SmartStack system. This system features a bus extension that is highly noise immune, inexpensive plastic fiber technology, a plastic/glass converter (for distances up to 1500 m), and support for up to 20 SmartStack modules. This base/hub can support a variety of I/O layouts, including Star, Daisy-chain, or Combination. Each SmartStack FOX cable segment can be up to 10 m in length, with no base/hub located more than 30 m form the OCS. These cables come in 5 standard lengths: 0.5 m, 1 m, 2 m, 5 m, and 10 m. The cables are made of plastic fiver, offer a Toslink connection, have minimum bend radius of 1 25 mm (1 inch), and have a cable diameter of 2 mm. The type of fiber optic cable is EIAJ RC-5720 (RC).
The height is 108 mm, the width is 168.3 mm, and the mounting depth is 119.4 mm. The primary power is 9-30 VDC @ 400 mA maximum, and the power draw is 9-30 VDC @ 400 mA maximum. The mounting orientation can be either vertical or horizontal, but if the base/hub is mounted horizontally, the nameplate must be oriented toward the bottom. This system can be mounted to a DIN-Rail strip or hard-mounted to the back plane. When mounting to the back plane, observe requirements for the panel layout design and adequate clearances. Do not over-tighten the washers and nuts when mounting. Using the provided connectors, connect the communications and power cables to the I/O system.
