About the HE800THM100
HE800THM100 is manufactured by Horner APG as a part of the HE800 series. This Thermocouple/Millivolt Input Module has 4 channels and a resolution of 0.05° C. The input impedance is 10 Meg Ohm clamped at ±24 VDC. This module has an integrating conversion type. The steady state required power is 0.34W (14.3mA at 24VDC), and the inrush required power is negligible. Types supported on this module are J, K, T, E, C, R, S. The millivolt ranges are ±25mv, ±50mv, and ±100mv. The millivolt accuracy is 0.1% of full scale. There are no common channel points. The PLC update rate is set by PLC scan rate. The cold junction compensation is automatically selected and either internal or external. The maximum sustained differential O/L is limited by the common mode range, which is ±12VDC (maximum). The A/D conversion time is 16 channels per second. High temperature is the open thermocouple response. The operating temperature must be 0-60° C, and the relative humidity must be 5 to 95% (non-condensing). This module weighs 9.5 oz and is both UL and CE compliant.
Horner thermocouple input modules use a high impedance differential circuit to support the use of grounded or ungrounded thermocouples. The specified Common Mode Range allows for ground potential differences between the machine ground and the PLC ground within that range (for grounded thermocouples). The high impedance inputs are subject to common mode noise pickup (for ungrounded or floating thermocouples). Any thermocouple should be grounded in one place at most. Remove power from the controller before attempting installation.
