About the CV-E500
The CV-E500 module is a camera expansion unit for cameras made by KEYENCE within the CV-5000 series.
Note that it is possible to connect to the CV-E500 camera expansion unit to either the CV-5700 or the CV-5500. Doing this increases the number of camera inputs by two, which makes it possible to connect up to four cameras.
The CV-E500 camera expansion unit is a small, black rectangular-shaped module. On the front of the CV-E500 module, there is yellow text which reads, “CAMERA EXPANSION UNIT.” Additionally, there are two small ports on the front of the module. The top small port is labeled as “CAMERA-4” and the bottom small port is labeled as “CAMERA-3.” On one of the sides of the CV-E500 camera expansion unit, there is a large rectangular connection port. Directly next to this connection port is a small warning label which reads, “WARNING: Don’t touch the metal portion directly as this may cause injury.” The top of the CV-E500 module has numerous rectangular ventilation holes to prevent overheating.
The CV-E500 camera expansion unit attaches directly to a KEYENCE CV-5000 camera controller unit via the side port. This is so that the controller model, such as the CV-X170 or the CV-X150, can handle up to four cameras with capabilities of simultaneous captures.
