About the L5312
L5312
Designed and produced by the Parker Eurotherm Corporation, the Firewire LinkCard (designated with the manufacturing part number of L5312) is an interface module that bridges the connection between a Link component and the Firewire network. When the L5312 LinkCard is plugged into a LinkRack or integrated into a LinkStation card entry port, it is then able to successfully communicate with any other modules that are also connected to the Firewire network by a standard IEEE 1394 Firewire cables. The L5312 comes outfitted with three integrated cable ports, which can be used in any sort of combination.
The L5312 module was developed with two LED lights integrated into the hardware to indicate the module’s operational status and the network communication connectivity. The operation LED comes in one single color, green, and is lit when the device is powered on and fully operational.
The network connectivity LED is bi-colored with both red and green, and numerous shades of lighting indicate different issues. No light at all means the device is either not turned on or not programmed into the Link configuration. A flashing red indicates either that there is no power on the AC890 Firewire bus, or that the Firewire cable is not connected to the L5312. A steady amber color means that it is waiting for the Link2 host to initialize. A flashing green means bus power is on, but the L5312 does not detect any Link or AC890 nodes, and a steady green means that there are several nodes to connect to.
