The brightness adjustment has four (4) levels that it can be adjusted to. The font sizes can be adjusted. The character sizes offered in 8x8, 8x16, 16x16, and 32x32 dot fonts. The width can be expanded one (1) to eight (8) times. The height can be expanded, one (1) to eight (8) times. The text 8x8 dots holds 40 char x 30 rows, the text 8x16 dots holds 40 char x 15 rows, the text 16x16 dots holds 20 char x 15 rows, the text 32x32 dots holds 10 char x 7 rows. The backlight is a CCFL with a service life of 50,000 hours at 25C and twenty-four (24) hour operation. There are minute grid points (light and dark) on the display panel's surface. These are intentional and not a defect in the panel.

The GP2301-LG41-24V uses a one (1) MB flash EPROM for applications and the backup data is supported by 128KB SRAM. The serial interface has an asynchronous transmission RS-232C/RS-422 with a stop bit of one (1) or two (2) bits. The data length is seven (7) to eight (8) bits with a data transmission speed of 2,400 bps to 115,200 bps.
