The backlight has a 40,000-hour life span. Whenever changing the GP s backlight be sure to unplug the GP s power cord and wear protective gloves to prevent burn or electric shock. Do not attempt to modify the GP unit, this can cause electric shock or fire. The GP uses a lithium battery for backing up the internal clock data. If this battery is incorrectly replaced the battery may explode. Do not use the GP in an environment that contains flammable gas since it may cause an explosion. Many of the GP internal parts carry high voltages, electric shock can occur when disassembling the unit. Please do not take the unit apart. Be sure to design your equipment system so that no machine will malfunction due to a communication fault between the host controller and the GP. This is to prevent any possibility of personal injury or property damage. The GP is a precision instrument, do not use or store the GP where there is excessive vibration or where powerful shocks can occur.
