The 0-57416- remote I/O module is meant to be used as an interface between the AutoMax processor and the remote I/O that is present on the AutoMax network. This remote I/O network is designed to be used for operation with the two types of drops: master and slave. The master drop is the Multibus rack that holds the 0-57416- remote I/O module as well as at least one AutoMax processor module. In addition to that, this network is made up of two main components: a transmission medium, which can either be a fiber optic cable or a coaxial cable, and a number of nodes.
