About the 0-57417-
The 0-57417- unit is an AutoMate Interface Module that was made by Reliance Electric. If you are in need of this product for your facility, be sure to contact AX Control. We make our best effort to supply the 0-57417- interface module to our customers despite the fact that the OEM no longer produces it.
The 0-57417- interface module was designed to be an interface between an AutoMax system and an AutoMate system. This process is done using an RS-232 link that uses the AutoMate Communication Protocol. The 0-57417- interface module is compatible with numerous AutoMate devices, including the 45c203 Serial Communication Processor and a 45c27 or 45c28 R-Net Gateway Interface Head.
The 0-57417- interface module is very flexible, allowing it to be placed inside any slot in an AutoMax rack that has at least one AutoMax processor contained within it. This module can be used to communicate with a maximum of four AutoMax processors that are in the rack through use of the internal dual port memory. By doing this, the 0-57417- interface module transfers the data that is acquired between the 40E image and the remote equipment by using a subset of AutoMate communication protocol commands.
Before starting the installation of the 0-57417- interface module, be sure to stop any application tasks that are running, if any, and turn off all power to the rack and its wiring leading. Insert the module into any slot that you want in the rack. To ensure that it is well seated, use a screwdriver to secure it. Then, set the drop number using the two thumbwheel switches on the 0-57417- interface module’s faceplate. After you do that, you will need to deal with the 0-57417- interface module’s communication link. If the communication link is over 50 feet in total length, then you must connect one end of the interface cable to the 25 pin connector on the short haul modem and the other short haul modem to the connector on the AutoMate hardware. If the communication link is less than 50 feet in total length, you can simply connect the 0-57417- interface module to the remote device. After that, turn on the power and let the diagnostic routing automatically run.
