The 0-57443- scanner module was designed to link the AutoMax DCS to the I/O devices that communicate using the remote I/O link. The 0-57443- scanner module has the ability to support remote I/O communication rates of 57.6, 115.2, and 230.4 kbps. In addition to that, the 0-57443- scanner module has the ability to support 1 slot, 2 slot, and ½ slot addressing of a maximum of 32 AutoMax racks. These compatible AutoMax racks can be ¼, ½, ¾, or full racks. Also, you can use the 0-57443- scanner module to function as a controller for other devices, such as a Flex I/O, a Block I/O, or a Remote I/O Adapter Module, for example.

On its faceplate, the 0-57443- scanner module has only three components. At the very top, there is a 7-segment LED display that will show the user error and status information when appropriate. There is a small green LED below that display which is designed to show that the 0-57443- scanner module is both ON and working properly. Down at the bottom of the 0-57443- scanner module’s faceplate, there is a Phoenix-type Remote I/O connector, and this connector allows you to establish a connection with a remote I/O link cable segment. This is made out of six pins, with the bottom three pins allowing you to connect a daisy chain remote I/O cable segment to it.
