About the 0-57491-
The 0-57491- unit is a power supply module that was created and manufactured by Reliance Electric. The 0-57491- power supply module can usually be found within AX Control’s stock even though its production has been halted by Reliance Electric, so be sure to give us a call to check on the availability.
The 0-57491- power supply module was designed to convert 115 VAC of input power into the DC voltages that are necessary to operate the other modules that are contained within the rack. When the 0-57491- power supply module powers up, it will begin what it calls a “soft start.” This process gradually increases its output until it reaches the necessary voltage for logic operations to begin.
In the event that the AC input falls below the lower line of the voltage limit, the 0-57491- power supply module will automatically generate a power fall interrupt signal at least three milliseconds prior to the loss of the DC power that is regulated. This will allow for the holdover time on the AC input loss to be 20 milliseconds. In the event that there is a power fail interrupt signal, 5 Volts of output power will be supplied by the battery back-up, should it be installed. When this happens, the volatile memory of the processor modules and the common memory module will be maintained. Lastly, if the battery back-up voltage every falls lower than 3.0 Volts, then the memory will be lost and the processor modules will cease to function until the power supply is manually reset by the user by turning the front panel’s keyswitch to the PROGRAM position.
Reliance Electric products like the 0-57491 may have been manufactured under previous company names including Baldor Reliance and Asea Brown Boveri.
