The 0-57552- is a Universal Drive Control (UDC) created for the AutoMax series of Distributed Power Drives. It is used as a Multibus slave only and is incapable of using a bus to read or alter data on an I/O. This UDC plugs into the backplane of an AutoMax rack and is considered to be a printed circuit board assembly. This assembly contains the following parts: a circuit board, a protective enclosure, and a faceplate. The faceplate has a total of six status LED indicator lights that are there to let you know of any diagnostic issues. This assembly connects the UDC to a PMI using two fiberoptic cables. The UDC can record charts or be connected to other meters using four analog output ports.

Two Power Module Interfaces (PMI) can be plugged into the 0-57552- when it is mounted onto an AutoMax rack. Up to 10 0-57552- systems can be placed on a rack, for a total of 20 PMIs. The PMIs are in charge of transmitting diagnostic data and controlling the algorithms needed for the UDC through a fiberoptic link.
