The 45C200 is a Local I/O Processor Module for an AutoMate 30/40 system. This system allows you to be able to connect 256 digital I/Os into an Automate 30/40 rack. It can also be used on a remote I/O rack. It does this by using a custom LSI chip. The 45C200 can talk to four I/O rails or to four Local heads that are rated for 256 digital I/O. The system can handle any mixture of I/O rails or Local Heads. The system communicates to a Multibus and makes data available to it. Such data includes communications protocols and error checking. Making it so that the Automate 30/40 doesn’t need to perform these tasks manually.
The 45C200 is a very slim board that has for ports on the front labeled 0, 1, 2, and 3. It is housed in a black enclosure. It has two extended feet on the frontplate that have two holes drilled in them for mounting purposes. On the back, it has two slots on the back where the board can be slid into place.
