About the 45C202
A 45C202 is a Reliance Electric created Processor Module. Depending on when this module was sold, it could have been also produced by Asea Brown Boveri or Baldor Reliance.
The 45C202 is an R-NET Processor Module that was created for the AutoMate Programmable Logic 30/40 Series. This card plugs into AutoMate Rack and is connected to the system using a network cable. This module’s main function is to be able to handle all network communication. This allows the AutoMate’s processor to perform other necessary functions. A Multibus is used for data transfers that occur between the processors. Thus, communication does not occur serially. Using other Reliance gateways, the 45C202 can interface other devices to the R-NET. The R-NET network is set up to handle 32 AutoMate PLCs and other devices that need to communicate with each other. The R-NET system is configured using a drop-down coaxial cable.
The 45C202 has 8 status LED indicator lights. These indicator LEDs are labeled READY, XMIT, RECV, COM OK, and there are four COM ER LEDs. This card is contained in a black enclosure that has two mounting feet; one on the top and bottom. There are two holes drilled into the feet and a screw can be used to attach it. The coaxial cable attaches at the bottom of the faceplate.
