The 45C233 is Programmable Logic Controller by Reliance Electric. It may have also been created by Asea Brown Boveri and Reliance Electric as part of their product lines depending on when it was mass-produced.

The 45C233 is an AutoMate 15E WITH R-NET 24/48 VDC. The AutoMate E controller is a very small programmable device that has many of the same features found on larger PLCs. This controller has the ability to support common features that are used through the entire line of products for AutoMates. This The 15E is the optional version of the Model 15. It has more features than the standard model.

The 45C233 has a standard I/O structure found in many of the other AutoMate models. It can allow for up to 8 cards or 16 isolated points to be mounted on a rail. To allow for wire terminations and a heatsink for head dissipation, it is important to rail mount the I/O structure. This model comes with the standard programming software system that can be used to aid in the programming of the AutoMate controller.

The 45C233 has the ability to be connected to the R-NET network. Being connected to this network allows for direct communication between different devices on the same network. It just needs to be connected to it via coaxial cable. This device can also be connected to a serial gateway and bus card. This allows for a full-speed data transfer up to 800k BAUD.
