About the 45C272
The 45C272 is a Memory Expansion Card created by Reliance Electric. Baldor Reliance and Asea Brown Boveri also may have this card as a part of their product lines depending on what year this card was being constructed.
The 45C272 is a very simple card that was used to extend the memory of an AutoMate 40 processing unit. This card is considered to be an optional modification and is not required on simple systems. This card would give the system an additional 32k worth of memory. This module is the second largest that’s possible for this system. This card can be combined with another card to increase the AutoMate’s non-volatile memory to a max of 104 k x 16. The AutoMate typically comes with a standard 8k memory.
The 45C272 is a very slim memory card. It had three LED indicator lights on the front faceplate. These are labeled ACTIVE, ERROR, and READY. The faceplate also has a mounting bracket on the top and bottom of the faceplate. This allows the 45C272 to be mounted into an AutoMate Card Rack Assembly using two screws. There are spaces on the back of the card that can plug directly into the card slots on the rack assembly.
